Merry Christmas and Happiest of Holidays

It has – again – been far too long since I have posted on my Blog.   It has been a very busy fall and hectic last couple of months.

My beautiful daughter, Dr. Adrienne Owens, is opening her own chiropractic office in a few short months and I have been busy helping her with her Business Plan and research.  I have learned so much!!  It has been amazing to help her with research and I am more and more proud of her the more I learn.  She is an amazing and talented Chiropractor and such a beautiful person.  Her ethics and outlook in life make me one proud Mama!

I have also been helping my best friend and her husband with his new manufacturing business.  Larry is so talented.  Give him a problem with a hospital bed or piece of hospital equipment and he will find a solution.  He creates the solution and then builds them in his garage.  He has filled hundred of orders this fall for multiple hospitals and clinics all over the United States.  I have had the privilege of being a part of that.  Sometime I do the financial book work, some times I put pieces together in the garage and sometimes I am the “gopher”.

In between traveling from Goldendale to Portland and Federal Way and back, I have had some time to do my stamping.  I find the busier I am, the more necessary to get some serious crafting time on my schedule!  I find it is an important therapy for me and I enjoy it so much more than other stress relievers!

I participated in a couple of craft fairs this fall.  It was fun to do again.  I never get all the items made that I want to, but I usually end up with plenty of items to share.  This year, I had fun making picture frames – something I haven’t done for years.

Seasons of Style Poinsettia Picture Frame

Pointsettia Picture Frame

This frame can be either used as is shown above, or turned horizontally to have the poinsettia at the top left corner or lower right corner.  I always try to make picture frames so that that are versatile for use.  This frame was made using The Joyful Christmas Stamp Set #131805 on Cherry Cobbler cardstock #119685 and Wild Wasabi cardstock #108641 for the poinsettia and leaves.  I used R#119246 for the center of the flower.  TRICK:  use a Sharpie of any desired color to color the Basic Rhinestones.  Then you have whatever color you need for your project!  The paper used to cover the frame is from the Seasons of Style Double-Sided Designer Papers #132340

Soho Subway Picture Frame

Soho Subway This frame was made with paper from the Soho Subway Double-Sided Designer Paper Series #130140.  This paper is very versatile, but I thought the numbers would be especially good for a Birthday picture.  I added the little owl using the Owl Builder Punch #118074

The wooden picture frames were purchased at a craft store, but all of the Designer Papers and accessories can be purchased from my on-line store

Enjoy your holidays and make time for crafting!

More Thinlits Circle Cards

This new Stampin’ Up!(c) Thinlit Circle Card Die is so much fun!  The cards turn out so cute every time!!  And you can use them for everything!  Birthday, Anniversary, Thinking of You, Thank You….and the list goes on!  Thinlits Circle Die  #133480See my post a few days ago showing a card and envelope set I made using this Die.

Circle card Thinlits Die

This die was introduced at the Stampin’ Up! Convention in July.  All of the Demonstrators were so excited!!  There is also a Labels Thinlet Die  #133479 which I will share more about in a later Blog.

Owl Anniversary Card

Owl Anniversary Card

Isn’t this darling?  I just love it!  I used the Stampin’ Up! Owl Builder Punch #118074 to create the Mr. & Mrs. Owls.  I had to overlap them just a bit to fit onto the circle.  I used Cherry Cobbler cardstock #119685 for the card base and Old Olive Double-sided Designer Papers from the Brights Designer Paper Stack #130134.  The Owls are made using Early Espresso cardstock #119686 along with the Old Olive DSP for the dress.

On the bottom left corner I have stamped Happy Anniversary in Basic Black Classic Ink #126980.

The inside of the card (the back of the flip circle) says, “Happy Together” from the A Dozen Thoughts Stamp set #131059 (clear-mount).

Blooming With Kindness

I love this stamp set!  It is so beautiful.  And can be used for a variety of sentiments and occasions.  It comes in both wood mount #131961 and clear-mount #126422.

Blooming With Kindness in fall colors

Blooming With Kindness in fall colors

I made this card to match the gift bag featured on page 64 of the Stampin’ Up!© Idea Book and Catalog.  There is a FREE video on how to make the Gift Bag – just join my mailing list to receive the FREE videos.

I made the card using Raspberry Ripple cardstock #126842 as the base.  Then I added Tangerine Tango #111349 cardstock embossed with the Modern Mosaic Embossing Folder #129984.

With Whisper White cardstock #100730, I cut the shape with the Window Frames Collection #129021.  Once I cut the labels shape, I then trimmed both sides straight removing the outside rounded portions of the die.

Instead of stamping the large dahlia with a single color, I used Sponge Daubers #102892 to create a multiple-color look to on the large flower.  In the middle of the image, I used Tangerine Tango Classic Ink #126946 and used another Sponge Dauber to cover the outside of the flower with Raspberry Ripple Classic Ink #126859.  There was some overlapping of the colors to help blend the image into one.  I also used Gumball Green Classic Ink #126861 to Sponge Dauber the stem of the flower.  The flower turned out beautiful!

The Happy Birthday sentiment was stamped with Basic Black Classic Ink #126980  and the project was all pulled together with a strip of 3/8″ Stitched Satin Rabsberry Ripple Ribbon #126845.

I think this card turned out great!  What other color combinations do you think would look good?  I would love to hear your ideas!

Card Set with New Stampin’ Up!(c) Thinlits Circle Card Die

Stationery Set for Ruth and Andy

Ruth and Andy had the booth next to mine at the Farmer’s Market.  They are delightful and generous people! They always had a kind word for their customers and all of us vendors. I looked forward each week seeing them.  And they supplied us with delicious fresh produce all summer long!

At the end of the summer, as a little “thank you”, I made them this cute little stationery set.  I patterned it after their shirts.  Each week they wore matching red T-shirts embroidered with their farm name, a hand shovel and the words, “I dig in the dirt”.

Card and Envelope Set with matching folder

Card and Envelope Set with matching folder

I didn’t have a stamp to math those words exactly, but I did have the new Tag It #130303 (clear-mount) or #130300 wood-mount.  I love this stamp set!  What a fun stamp set!

The cards and stationery cover are made with Real Red cardstock #102482.  The inside of the stationery folder is covered with a piece of Smokey Slate Designer Papers from the Neutrals Designer Paper Stacks #130132.  Along the bottom I used Soft Suede cardstock #115318.  I tore the pieces of Soft Suede and inked the edges with Soft Suede ink #126978 to make it look like dirt.

The inside of the folder is also decorated with another retired Stampin’ Up! stamp set called “Best of Cluck”.  Ruth and Andy also raise chickens and have fresh yummy eggs each week.  So I wanted to include them also.

The individual cards were made with the NEW Stampin’ Up!(c) Circle Card Thinlits Dies #133480.  These cards are so simple and fun to make!

The actual card front only covers about 1/2 of the card with the circle portion extending beyond that.  It has a special fold that allows the circle to flip over when opened.  On the back there is space for another stamped image or saying on the back.  (I have made numerous cards with this new Die and they are so cute!  You will want this Die added to your collection!)  The Thinlit Circle Card die can be purchased at my on-line store!

I used Stampin’ Up!(c) envelopes….of course!  I love the quality of the envelopes.  I used Stampin’ Up!(c) Whisper White Envelopes #107301 for these cards.  I decorated the envelope with the shovel image.

I’m Back on-line!

Greetings, Friends!

It has been far toooooo long since I have written on my blog.  I apologize for my lack of blogs these past months.

It has been a busy and hectic few months, but I am hoping that we are now settling back into a routine and fall schedule and that I can get back to keeping in touch with you and to my video tutorials.

In June, my computer crashed – taking with it my tutorial programs, completed tutorials, pictures of finished projects, blogs and much much more!  I was devastated!  I backed up things as I began having problems, but I still haven’t been able to find all of my programs and/or content.  But I believe I am back to a place where I can begin moving forward again.  I spent long hours trying to retrieve lost information.  Today I received help from and they now have me up and going again!

For those of you on my mailing list, I will begin the next 5 video tutorials late October/early November.  If you haven’t yet signed up for my mailing list – please do so and receive FREE video tutorials of projects from the new 2013-2014 Stampin’ Up!© Idea Book and Catalog and the new Stampin’ Up! © Holiday Mini.  Just go to the right of this blog to sign up for my mailing list and you will begin receiving the FREE tutorials.

Our son, Steven, is now in China to begin his new adventure!  He will be teaching English to 3 – 7 year olds.  His main reason for traveling to China is to meet and get acquainted with his beloved, Jiaxuan’s family.  She is a sweetheart and we dearly love her.  She and Steven worked together for a year at the YMCA of the Rockies.  She has been back in China for a year and now Steven is there learning about her family, her culture and those things that are important to her and her family.  I am so excited for them both!  However, getting him on the plane was quite an experience!  There were detours at every turn!  Each time we thought he had all of his paperwork in order; some new curve was thrown into the mix!  But he has safely arrived in China and is with Jiaxuan and her family.  He has been training for his job and will begin teaching in just one short week.

Over the next weeks, I will show you some of the cards and other projects I have made this summer.  Some of these projects are with retired product – I apologize for that, but will share them because you may also have some of the same retired product – OR – my project may spark a creative moment for you the product you have on hand.

I participated in the Farmer’s Market in Goldendale this summer.  It was each Saturday May through September.  I found I really enjoyed the experience and already look forward to next summer.  The good news, I have 7 months to prepare this time!  Since I started late this year, I felt like I was constantly playing “catch up”.  Each week I had to re-stock what I sold so each week was so busy, busy, busy getting ready for the next Saturday.  Now I am looking forward and planning ahead.

I will be sharing some of my Farmer’s Markets projects with you in the weeks to come!

Be sure and go to the sign-up list on the right and get signed up for my mailing list so you will be ready to receive the next 5 video tutorials!

Perfect Blend

I don’t even drink coffee, but I love this stamp set!  I have so many friends that I can make things for who do love coffee.  ( I will stick with my Vanilla Chi Tea Latte, thank you very much!)

This is another one of the NEW stamp sets in the new Stampin’ Up!© Idea Book and catalog.  Perfect Blend on page 37.  It comes in both Wood-Mount #130745 and Clear-Mount #131392.

I have had so much fun with this stamp set this past week!  I have made cards, cute little coffee gift bags, coasters and still have more ideas flowing for this great stamp set!

I completed a video tutorial for the cute coffee gift bag featured on page 36 of the new catalog.  The gift bags turned out so well!  I hope to make some of these for our church bazaar this winter.  I chose Fair Trade coffee beans and grounds so not only is someone receiving a cute gift, farmers in under-privileged countries are receiving fair wages for their work.  I feel so good about that!!

Here is a picture of the coffee gift bag.

I also made some 4″ tumbled marble coasters to go with the gift bag.  I usually give a set of 4 coasters.  And to be able to give them with a cute little decorated sack with Fair Trade Coffee – what a great gift!

My Friend

I love this stamp set!  It is so easy to use and looks beautiful even with very simple cards.

The “My Friend” stamp set is on page 118 of the NEW Stampin’ Up!© Idea Book and catalog.  This stamp set comes in both wood block mount and clear mount.  It also comes in French!

I looked at it for a long time before I finally ordered it.  But now that I have it, I am really glad I made the plunge!

My Friend

Today I used this beautiful stamp set for the first time and made some very simplistic but beautiful cards:

Hello -Blue  SCAN0903 SCAN0904

The background papers are NEW Stampin’ Up!© Soho Subway Double-sided Designer Papers #130140.  My favorite one is the 3rd one.  This particular sheet of paper is a combination of Early Espresso and the NEW In-Color Crisp Cantaloupe.  It is a beautiful combination!

But I have to say, this next card is my favorite of the two styles.  I liked the Crisp Cantaloupe and Early Espresso combination so well, I used those two colors along with Pear Pizazz.  I am so glad that Stampin’ Up! has brought this color back into their color family.  It is so beautiful and goes with so many other colors!

Hello with butterfly

Hello with butterfly

For the butterfly, I used the Beautiful Wings Embosslits #18138 with the Crisp Cantaloupe cardstock.  The perfect extra touch to set this card off.

As you can see, both of these styles of cards, using the My Friend Stamp Set are very simplistic.  But I believe this stamp set lends itself to that very well.

All of these items can be ordered through my on-line store 24/7.  Browse the catalog and order at your leisure!
